Consultations with Students, Employees and the Community:

In March 2009 Fanshawe College for the third time asked identified students with disabilities to complete an online survey to provide feedback about their experiences and satisfaction with services and facilities. Unfortunately, there was less than a 20% return rate, which may have been related to the survey being conducted late in the academic year. However, aggregate results were compared to those received in 2004 and 2007 surveys and these comparisons shared with Fanshawe's College Council and provided to the members of the Accessibility Steering Committee and to others. Student feedback included a wealth of narrative comments which will be compiled and studied over the next year.

Student focus groups will be conducted over the next year to obtain further feedback to help us to better understand the survey results.

Fanshawe College again participated with TD Canada Trust, The University of Western Ontario and key area businesses in London's third annual "Ability First" conference at the London Convention Centre. The purpose of the event is to encourage local business to recruit employees with disabilities.
