Collectively, the Fanshawe College community has raised more than $6500 for Haiti Relief, which will increase to a donation of over $13,500 when matched with government dollars.
When Haiti was devastated in January 2010 by a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 earthquake and more than 52 aftershocks measuring 4.5 or greater, students and staff rallied together to show that Fanshawe cares.
Voluntary donations for Haiti Relief efforts were accepted at the following locations:
All proceeds will be directed through Canadian Red Cross and World Vision.
Online donations can also be made to the organization of your choice. The CBC has compiled links to charitable organizations on their Haiti Relief page at: http://www.cbc.ca/haitirelief/
For information on the federal government's matching donation program, see CIDA's FAQs- Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund page.
Thank you for caring for the citizens of Haiti...
