"Fanshawe prepared me for 17 years of print and broadcast news. Then, at mid-life, Fanshawe prepared me again for a second career as a foreign aid worker in some of the world's most needy countries. I didn't know it back in 1979 and again in 1996, but Fanshawe was preparing me for a much bigger world. That world has now become my new teacher." Steve Matthews, Relief Communications Manager - World Vision Radio Broadcasting (1979), Public Relations & Corporate Communications (1996) |

"My trip to China was a personally and professionally rewarding experience. It affirmed what a great institution Fanshawe is and what we can offer to others from our experiences and expertise. I also have come to appreciate the tremendous commitment that foreign students, and their families, make when they come to Fanshawe to study. We can all benefit from the diversity and depth these students bring." Rod Cameron, Dean of Technology |

"Along with developing a new-found respect for my own citizenship and a sincere appreciation of things we take for granted as Canadians, my international experience in Lebanon also provided me with a real sense of having made a difference. Having witnessed the impact of our project, my international experience was personally and professionally very satisfying. Thank you for the opportunity." Mark Hunter, Coordinator - Paramedic Program |

"Nothing can teach you more about yourself and your ability to cope in the world than moving to rural Africa in attempts to build something worthwhile for the community. My six month CIDA-Fanshawe internship as an HIV/AIDS Outreach Officer in Ghana gave me the opportunity to challenge the perspectives, knowledge and skills I'd gained during my studies and build the confidence I needed to approach the western workforce. I left Ghana feeling fulfilled by not only what I did for the community, but what the community did for me." Julia Boyle, CIDA - Fanshawe College IYIP Intern 2007-08 |

"Having grown up in a small Canadian town, my eyes were widened when I received a once in a lifetime opportunity at Fanshawe to see the world from a different perspective. While studying at Fanshawe College I obtained a unique learning opportunity which allowed me to go to Rwanda and be a part of a team that created short documentaries on development projects...
I am so thankful for the opportunity to dive right into Rwanda's mysterious and enlightening culture and I have grown tremendously from the experience." Jillian Brady, Music Industry Arts (2008) |

From both my exchange in Italy and an internship in Namibia, Fanshawe has given me the opportunity to experience life in ways I never could have imagined. I have learned so much from other people and cultures and life as a global citizen has taught me to value the world we live in, but also to appreciate my home in Canada.
.. Following that, Fanshawe supported my unforgettable experience in Africa - without Fanshawe, these opportunities would not have been possible. These international experiences from Fanshawe College made prospective employers take notice, and helped me land my dream job! Natalie Walliser, Landscape Design Graduate 2005 Italy Cultural Exchange Participant 2005, CIDA - Fanshawe College IYIP Intern 2007-08 |
