This three year advanced diploma program is designed for students who enjoy scientific research and laboratory analysis. The diversity of courses coupled with a minimum of 12 months and a maximum of 16 months of coop work experience provides students with many career options upon graduation. Employment may be found in the quality control industry, research laboratories or product development. You will begin by studying the basic sciences, math and the techniques and procedures for lab analysis. Considerable lab exposure together with the accompanying theory, provide experience in hands-on research. As you progress in the program, you will study Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and have an opportunity to work with state-of-the-art instrumentation.

There are many job opportunities for the Science Laboratory Technology graduate with education laboratories, process and quality control laboratories or in research and development. If you choose to continue your education after graduation, Fanshawe has established articulation agreements with select universities where your Fanshawe diploma will translate into credits toward a university degree.
