Program Description
This three year program provides students with a sound basic
knowledge of Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics, and
emphasizes the principles and performance of standard laboratory
practices, procedures, and techniques for biological, chemical and
physical analyses.
Transfer Credits & Articulation Agreements
Graduates of this program have direct transferability of 60
credits to the Bachelor of Science Post-Diploma program at
Athabasca University.
Graduates of this program with a minimum 'B' average or better
including a one year introductory university level humanities
course or equivelant and at least two years of professional
experience in the health field, and professional
registration/certification where appropriate, may be eligible for
advanced standing to the Bachelor of Health Administration,
Health Information Management degree program at Ryerson
University.
Graduates of this program with a minimum of 'B+' (75%) may be
eligible for up to 10 transfer credits towards the Bachelor of
Science in Environmental Sciences degree program at the University
of Guelph.
Graduates of this program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 may
be eligible for up to 9 credits towards the Bachelor of Science
degree program at the University of Western Ontario.
Graduates of this program may be eligible for admission into year
three of the Bachelor of Science degree program at Royal Roads
University, British Columbia.

Career Opportunities
This is a co-operative education program providing one year's work
experience in actual laboratory positions during the three years of
the program so that students graduate with relevant work
experience. Graduates find employment opportunities with applied
research and development laboratories, educational laboratories,
process and quality control laboratories, food and beverage
industries, petrochemical companies and technical sales.

OSSD with courses from the College (C), University (U),

Note:

- Applicants who lack required courses may be admitted to the
program subject to appropriate prior upgrading.
Recommended Academic Preparation

- Grade 11 or Grade 12 Computer Engineering (U/C) OR Grade 11 or
Grade 12 Computer and Information Science (U/C)
- Grade 12 English (C) OR Grade 12 Business and Technological
Communication (O)
- It is recommended that students in the Academic and Career
Entrance Certificate (ACE) program take a Technical or
Apprenticeship Mathematics course within the ACE program.
Applicant Selection Criteria
Where the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available
spaces in the program, the Applicant Selection Criteria will be:
- Preference for Permanent Residents of Ontario.
- Receipt of Application by February 1st.
- Achievement in the Admission Requirements.
Note:
- ***Students admitted to the Fanshawe College Pre-Technology and
Academic and Career Entrance Technology stream programs are
guaranteed admission the following year to a Technology career
program provided that they successfully complete their
Pre-Technology Ontario College Certificate or Academic and Career
Entrance Certificate and fulfill any other specified
conditions. Normally these students are admitted to their
first choice program.
Co-operative Education
This three year program has four co-op work terms.
Students who fulfill both the academic and co-op requirements of
the program will be eligible to graduate with a co-op endorsed
