Karen Rickers
Formerly the Artistic
Director of Gryphon Theatre (Barrie, ON), Karen is an alumnus of the Shaw
Festival Directors Project, where she assisted on productions of
Rashomon
and
Simpleton of the Unexpected Isles
and directed Terence Rattigan's
The Browning Version.
In 2005, she
attended The University of Exeter, where she earned a Masters degree in Staging
Shakespeare and as part of those studies, had the privilege of performing on
the stage of the new Globe Theatre in London, UK. She is currently
engaged in doctoral studies in drama, exploring adaptations of Shakespeare, at
the University of Exeter. She has led workshops and adjudicated widely
throughout Ontario and is currently a Professor of Theatre at Fanshawe.
