Christina Notto

Christina Notto was a Theatre Arts student at Fanshawe College who graduated in 2005. After auditioning for a number of theatre arts programs, Christina was accepted into the Fanshawe Program and it was an opportunity that she could not say no to. "Theatre programs only accept a very small number of people compared to other programs."

Upon graduating, Christina was signed with a talent agency through the help of a Theatre Arts faculty member. Currently, she is still an actress working mainly out of Toronto. "Although I am no longer with the same talent agency as I previously signed with, it was a stepping stone to a larger agency in which my main focus is now film and TV (auditioning for roles on series such as All My Children and The Vampire Diaries)."

The Theatre Arts Program at Fanshawe College gives the students skills that will ensure their success upon graduating. "The skills I learned at Fanshawe helped me prepare for the harsh world of an actor. Never once were there any false expectations that once we all left the program we would all be stars. They put a realistic approach on the real industry of an artist and prepared us for the fight it would take to even be seen. I was prepared enough that at my very first audition I knew what to expect and how exactly to hold myself."

Students in their last year get the chance to perform in a final play in front of industry specialists and talent agencies. "We worked with guest directors on our final plays (which John Dolan brought in) and those were very successful contacts to meet. The more contacts in this line of work the better and with a successful working actor as one of the professors for this program Fanshawe students couldn't be in better hands."
