Paige Albrecht
Upon graduating, Paige moved back home to Kitchener-Waterloo to do theatre. "Immediately after I found there was a large Film community in Guelph Ontario doing some pretty big things. (Black Fawn FIlms/Bleeding Apple Films). I got very involved with them and was in several short films and three feature-length films both due out this year. These films have been screened in Toronto as well as Montreal." Currently, Paige is living in Toronto and working as an actress.
"The skills I attained at Fanshawe to me are quite invaluable. To be involved in an ensemble atmosphere where everyone has a love for what they are doing is very powerful. The program is very real and down to earth as opposed to being superficial. The teachers tell it like it is which prepares you for the real world of being in the business of the Arts."
"My fondest memory of the College would be doing my Vocal Masque in the last semester of my first year of Theatre. It was a five-minute show consisting of just you on stage. I was preparing it and working on it one day in the company of one of my teachers John Dolan. Someone knocked at the door and he told me not to worry about it, the man entered and watched. Later in the day I found out it was Canadian Playwright Norm Foster. I just did my vocal masque (which was a show about me committing suicide) in front of Norm Foster!"
The Theatre Arts instructors assure that their students get all the skills that will benefit them in the future. "I believe I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of John Dolan who was one of my acting teachers. I sincerely think above being a 'teacher', he was also a mentor for me. He went above and beyond just coming to the classes and putting his time in. His passion lies in this program and he has built it from the ground up to where it is now - a great success."
