Awards / Bursaries

C.E. Award

  • Continuing Education Bursary assistance is available to students who are attending a Continuing Education credit course which is not eligible for any other financial assistance program funding. Selection is based on financial need, on a first come/first served basis. Bursary assistance usually applied directly to the recipient's tuition fees. Maximum bursary assistance is $100 per semester.

Fanshawe College Distinguished Student Award

  • student in final semester who has maintained at least a minimum 'B' average while attending Fanshawe College (no 'I' or 'F' grades appearing in any term) and who will have satisfied all requirements for graduation preceding presentation of the award
  • student has made a significant contribution to college life or to the community
  • a real commitment to others, for example through volunteer work, and substantial academic success should be evident in the nominee's achievements.

Mary Ann Darling Memorial Alumni Award

  • student in his/her final semester of diploma program of study who will have satisfied all requirements for graduation preceding presentation of the award (no "F" or "I" grades appearing in any term)
  • while attending Fanshawe College, student must have demonstrated in-house volunteer work that indicates a caring attitude towards people , image of the College and/or community volunteer work above and beyond the program of study requirements

Jim Matchett Memorial Scholarship

  • available to a returning, full-time post-secondary student who has maintained high academic achievement in their program of study and made a noteworthy contribution to the athletics program at Fanshawe College.
  • Returning student" is defined as an individual who has completed the first year of their current program of study and is now in their second or third year or is currently attending a Fanshawe College post-diploma program. Students who have had a break of time within their study periods at Fanshawe College are eligible for this scholarship.

Female and Male Athlete of the Year Award

  • for leadership and contribution to the athletic program; athletic ability and versatility; career accomplishments; and achieving an acceptable academic standard.

Ruth Gates Academic Award

  • Presented to a female student who is continuing her post secondary education in a non traditional occupation
  • Must have successfully completed their first semester of study with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or "B" and be continuing on as a full-time student in their program's second semester

Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund Bursaries

  • Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund Bursaries are available to full-time students who, in the final semester of a two year or three year post-secondary program of study at Fanshawe College, have a demonstrated financial need. Applicants must have passing grades in all courses within their current program of study and meet Ontario residency criteria. Both educational and personal living expenses related to program study will be considered.
