Program Description
The Academic & Career Entrance Certificate Program is provincially recognized as equivalent to Grade 12 for the purpose of admissions to all Ontario Colleges in pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, and post-secondary programs. It is also recognized by many employers. The learning that takes places in this program is organized by six competencies that describe a person's abilities. The competencies represent the full range of skills, knowledge, and attitudes that adults can expect to develop for success in life, learning and work. The six competencies include: find and use information, communicate ideas and information, understand, and use numbers, use digital technology, manage learning, and engage with others.Courses

| This course focuses on consolidating students' basic mathematical skills, problem-solving techniques, and will provide the basics of functions, analytic geometry, and trigonometry. Students will select 2 or 3 of the following areas in addition to the above skills: operating with functions, statistics and probability, personal finance, workplace finance, exponential growth, and applications of sequences and series. | This course incorporates literacy, critical thinking and communication skills necessary for success in academic and daily life. Students will study and analyze informational and graphic texts.
