Acting Chair, School of Contemporary Media
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dana Morningstar as the Acting Chair of the School of Contemporary Media effective Monday, October 26, 2009.
Dana joined the College full time in 1990 and has taught English and communication courses to various program areas including business, health, technology, general arts, design and media programs. Since 1996, she has coordinated the post-graduate Corporate Communication and Public Relations Ontario Graduate Certificate program.
Dana holds both a B.Ed. and an M.Ed. from The University of Western Ontario in the area of Educational Studies - curriculum specialization. Her undergraduate honours degree was a double major in English and Art History. Her M.Ed. thesis was on collaborative programming in Ontario colleges and universities.
Dana is not new to the School of Contemporary Media. As well as having taught several courses to radio, photography, fine art, multimedia and television students, she was instrumental in launching the Collaborative Fanshawe/Western Media Theory and Production diploma/degree program and in launching the Theatre Arts programs in 2002. She served as the first coordinator for each of these programs.
Currently the Vice President of the London Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators, Dana enjoys keeping up-to-date with social media trends and applications. She also serves on the Fanshawe College Program Approval Committee (PAC) and the Research Ethics Board (REB).
Please join me in welcoming Dana to her new position as Acting Chair, School of Contemporary Media.
