Campus Security Adds Bike Patrol

In April 2011 Fanshawe College Campus Security hosted the International Police Mountain Bike Course at Fanshawe's London Campus. The course teaches the basic skills needed to operate a bicycle as a safe, effective, and efficient policing tool. Bike Patrol procedures, tactics, and the use of the bike as a complete law enforcement tool were covered. Successful students are able to use a mountain bike in their patrol duties under all conditions.

Special Constable Luke Edwards is part of Fanshawe's Bike Patrol Team.

Campus Security now has an active Bike Patrol Team at London Campus. A bicycle is an excellent mode of transportation which allows greater access to areas that are unable to be patrolled in a vehicle. Bike Patrol is also an environmentally-friendly way to patrol and keep students and staff safe.
