The Chamber is an independent advocacy organization for London businesses. It strives to lead and assist the industry, ensuring continued growth and prosperity within the community. David will share in this responsibility during his two-year position on the Board of Directors which begins September 2008.

Prior to joining Fanshawe, David worked as a marketing representative in southwestern Ontario for business insurance and computer technology. He began working for the College in 1995 as a part-time professor in the Business Studies division. He proceeded to teach full-time, became program coordinator and progressed to academic management as Chair in 2003. He is currently the Dean of Information Technology, Business & Management and Tourism & Hospitality within the Faculty of Business.

"I'm looking forward to becoming more involved with the Chamber. Fanshawe College is well-connected throughout the London community and it's crucial to promote collaborative communication," says Belford.

David's nomination will extend his involvement with the Chamber: he has contributed to events such as Business After Five, where local businesses congregate to network; he also sat on the panel of judges for the Chamber's Business Achievement Awards.

Congratulations again David! We look forward to hearing more in coming months.
