Early Childhood Program Hosts 5th Annual Mentor Appreciation Night

On Thursday November 3, 2011, approximately 160 early childhood educators attended an evening to honour their contribution to the education of Fanshawe's students and to celebrate our profession. The event was held in the James Colvin Atrium at Fanshawe's London Campus.

At left, guest speaker Drew Dudley spoke about the meaning of leadership.

Tammy DeSouza, Janice Meharey, Jan Blaxall Pam McLaughlin, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services, welcomed the participants as the child care community acknowledged those child care centres who participated in the "Raising the Bar" Quality Child Care Initiative.

The Association for Early Childhood Educators also recognized two deserving award recipients, Tammy DeSouza and Jan Blaxall.

Carol Tracy, Sheryl Ragobar, Donna David, Pam McLaughlinAs part of "Continuing the Mentoring Momentum," the evening was highlighted by international speaker and leadership educator Drew Dudley who spoke about the meaning of leadership.

Fanshawe College was awarded funds to support this and other initiatives throughout 2012. These Government of Ontario funds are managed by the Early Childhood Community Development Centre (ECCDC), who have partnered with Fanshawe College in this project. Special thanks to the Association for Early Childhood Educators Ontario for sponsoring our guest speaker.
