Fanshawe Alumni Visit Calgary

In conjunction with the Falcons' trip to Calgary for the CCAA men's basketball national championship, the Alumni Association hosted a reception for Fanshawe grads living in Calgary. On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at the Delta Bow Valley in downtown Calgary, 18 graduates dropped in for some appetizers and a chance to catch up with each other and with Fanshawe. This was one of the first alumni events outside of Ontario and it was a success! Alumni from the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s shared their stories of how they settled in Alberta and how their Fanshawe College education was important to their achievements. The Falcons' basketball coaches and athletes' parents joined the fun.

Alumni staff also took the opportunity to visit Fanshawe College partners EllisDon & PCL Construction Companies. Both companies generously support the College and hire our graduates. There are approximately 700 graduates in Alberta and 250 living in Calgary. Congratulations to the Falcons' basketball team who played extremely well adding to the success of the Calgary events.
