Fanshawe College to Celebrate Fall Convocation
London Campus ceremonies on Nov. 1 and 2, 2012.
Together with the family and friends of more than 1,200 graduates, Fanshawe College students will celebrate their convocation during three ceremonies at the London Campus on November 1 and 2, 2012. The College will also honour the successes of students with the highest academic achievement in each Faculty with the presentation of the Dean's Academic Awards.
Lane Trotter, Senior Vice President Academic, will award the Governor General's Academic Medal for the College-wide highest academic average to Ms. Chandra Renner, a graduate of the Law Clerk program.

Faculty of Arts, Media and Design
Award: Mr. Peter Seligman, Dean's Academic Award, Faculty of Arts, Media and Design.
Guest Speaker: Mr. Bill Tucker, Director of Education and Secretary,
Thames Valley District School Board.
Bill Tucker began his career in education as a teacher in 1979 and has served as Director since 2008. In 2010, he established the Director's Community Task Force to deal with bullying issues in Thames Valley and, in 2012, was appointed to the Ontario Government's new Accepting Schools Expert Panel aimed at finding ways to make schools safe, more inclusive and accepting places for students to learn. Mr. Tucker is the 2012 Campaign Cabinet Chair for the United Way of London & Middlesex.

Faculty of Business and Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services
Awards: Ms. Chandra Renner, Governor General's Academic Medal and Dean's Academic Award, Faculty of Business; Ms. Rebecca Molly, Dean's Academic Award, Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services.
Professor Emeritus: Ms. Margot Sippel, School of Human Services, will be appointed Fanshawe College Professor Emeritus.
Guest Speaker: Mr. Joaquim Ballès, Vice President and General Counsel, Trudell Medical.
As an active member of the London community, Joaquim Ballès served as President of the
Chamber of Commerce in 2011/2012. He currently serves as Past President, Executive and
Board member and is Chair of the Asian Business Opportunities Committee.
Mr. Ballès also sits on the Governance Council of the London Middlesex
Immigration Employment Council.

Centre for Community Education and Training Services and Faculty of Technology
Awards: Ms. Lisa Rand-White, Dean's Academic Award, Continuing Education Studies; Mr. Edward Taylor, Dean's Academic Award, Faculty of Technology.
Guest Speaker: Mr. John Wilkinson, President and CEO of Wilkinson Insight Incorporated.
John Wilkinson served in the Ontario Legislature from 2003 to 2011, first as MPP for Perth-Middlesex, then as MPP for Perth-Wellington. During this time, he served as Minister of Research and Innovation, Minister of Revenue and Minister of the Environment. Mr. Wilkinson is a recipient of the Julia Award from the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and is a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.
He is also Co-Chair of the new Stratford Performing Artists Lodge capital campaign.
