Fanshawe First Nations Centre Celebrates Student Success

Celeste Noah - click for a photo gallery Fanshawe College will host an exciting Aboriginal celebration on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.

The event will start off at 9:00 a.m. with Elder Teaching workshops by Isaac Day, Elva Jamieson and Christine Skye, held in the Alumni Lounge, SC2013. (Please pre-register for the Elder Teaching workshops by March 31 using the form below).

At 11:00 a.m. the action will move to J Gym for a free lunch as outstanding students are recognized in award presentations. Aboriginal craft vendors and educational resources will be available in J Gym too.

At 12:00 noon, J Gym will be filled with music and dancers in intricate colourful regalia for demonstrations of Pow Wow and Longhouse dances, with MC Gordon Sands and featuring The Straight Sound, Oneida Longhouse Singers and Red Tail Hawk.
