Fanshawe graduate and decathlete, Damian Warner, excels on world stage
(London, Ontario) Fanshawe College congratulates Olympic decathlon athlete Damian Warner for his fifth place finish at the 2012 Olympics in London. A recent business graduate from the College, Damian proved that hard work and dedication pays off with his performance in one of the most difficult Olympic sports. Damian set six personal bests during the competition and moved up 13 places from the world championships.
“We are in inspired by Damian’s impressive achievements at the Olympics,” said Bernice Hull, Vice-President, Fanshawe College. “His spirit and passion prove him to be a true athlete and Fanshawe is proud to have been part of his journey. Damian embodies the Olympic spirit of hard-work, perseverance and sportsmanship and we congratulate him on achieving personal-bests during these Olympic games. He has made his country, his city, and his College proud.”
Damian’s Olympic decathlon point total of 8,442 was the second highest in Canadian history.
