Fanshawe Student Receives National Scholarship

Fanshawe College student Matthew Keller (right) has been awarded the Val Mason Scholarship by the Canadian Society of Club Managers. Matthew, who is in his second year of the Golf and Recreational Club Management program, was nominated by his employer Jon Nusink, Clubhouse Manager at Sunningdale Golf and Country Club.

"It was an honour to nominate Matt and submit his essay on why he wanted to pursue a career in Club Management," said Mr. Nusink. "Matt joins another former employee, Tanya Sand, in being a recipient of this scholarship."

The Val Mason Scholarship Fund of the Canadian Society of Club Managers is available to individuals who are pursuing a career in club management and provides a $2,000 award. In addition, each recipient receives a complimentary Canadian Society of Club Managers student membership for the following year.

"This scholarship will help me further my education and thus will help me pursue my career in the private club industry," said Matthew.
