Fanshawe Students Help Big Brothers Big Sisters Recruit In-School Mentors

April 23, 2012

A project created by Interactive Media Design and Production students in their communications class has been selected for an upcoming Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) campaign.

BBBS asked students to create a campaign aimed at recruiting high school students as in-school mentors (or 'Bigs') as part of their volunteer requirement. The Fanshawe students created posters, brochures, bookmarks, and PSAs.

"Very soon into the project we knew that the decision process wasn't going to be easy. The Fanshawe College students produced excellent print campaigns and PSAs," says Marina Brkljaca, Marketing and Communications Assistant for BBBS.

"The group that we selected as the winning Print Campaign delivered a project that not only fell in line with branding and messaging, but we believe they also created a campaign that will appeal to our target demographic and bring in more high school mentors for our Brothers & Sisters in School Program. That means more children will have a chance at having a mentor."
