Mr. Haggis presented his film In the Valley of Elah (2007) to students and staff from Fanshawe, Humber, Durham and Sheridan Colleges followed by a question-and-answer session. This event was made possible through Higher Learning at TIFF Bell Lightbox, an ongoing series of free events for university and college students and faculty.

Following the class, Fanshawe staff and students were treated to a private luncheon in one of the special lounges reserved for élite visitors. Everyone had the opportunity to mingle with Paul, talk about his films and involvement in television and script-writing, and meet his father Ted, also from London.
