Garfield Weston Award Winners Announced!

The Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship for Colleges awards program is designed to recognize outstanding college students who show a strong commitment to their field of study and are interested in making positive contributions to their communities.


Fanshawe President Dr. Howard Rundle presented this year's winners with their awards on October 6, 2008. This year's national award winners are:

• Tanya George who received this scholarship last year. Tanya is in the third semester of the Social Service Worker program;
  
  
• Brian Sterling, also a recipient in the 2007/08 academic year is enrolled in the third semester of the Motive Power Technician - Diesel program;
  
  
• Julie Stewardson, also a recipient of the Garfield Weston Scholarship last year is in the second year of the Architectural Technology Program; and
  
  
• Frank Neufeld, a first-time recipient, is in the first semester of the Graphic Design program. 
  

This year's provincial winners are Jamie Blake and Jennie Mitchell. Jamie is in the first semester of the Child and Youth Worker program; and Jennie is in her first semester of the Photography program.
