Hilti (Canada) Supports School of Building Technology With Innovative New Tooling
Students in the electrical and mechanical installation trades are now equipped to enter the workforce with experience on innovative new tools from Hilti (Canada). On March 30, 2009, Hilti (Canada) Corporation donated new Hilti technology to Fanshawe College and demonstrated the tools to Fanshawe faculty and staff. The new products include the GX 120 M&E which is a new automatic gas-powered tool for the mechanical and electrical trades to fasten conduit, pipe or cables to steel, concrete or concrete block with one universal fastener.
Checking out the new tools! Left to right: Pat Nord (Hilti (Canada) Regional Manager), Rod Cameron (Dean, Faculty of Technology), Rich Knapp (Hilti (Canada) President and General Manager), Dan Douglas (Chair, School of Building Technology), Mark Trafford (Hilti (Canada) Account Manager).
Among those testing out the impressive performance of the new products with the Hilti team were Rod Cameron, Dean of Fanshawe's Faculty of Technology, and Dan Douglas, Chair of the School of Building Technology.
The generous donation includes a medium duty demolition tool for the removal of concrete and block, with self-sharpening chisels and innovative screw, drilling and hammer drilling Lithium Ion cordless tools. The company offers additional training to students enrolled in the programs involved.
With industry technology continually changing, the partnership with Hilti (Canada) helps Fanshawe meet its tooling needs. Accompanying Rich Knapp, President and General Manager of Hilti (Canada), at the presentation, were Regional Manager Pat Nord and Account Manager Mark Trafford. The entire Hilti (Canada) team received a warm welcome and thanks from the Faculty of Technology and the Fanshawe College Foundation.
