New Chair Announced for School of Human Services

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Sandra Fieber to the position of Chair, School of Human Services. Sandra will be joining the team on April 26, 2010. Between now and April 22, 2010, Frank Rodgers has agreed to take on the duties of Acting Chair.

Sandra Fieber has held the position of Program Director at Craigwood since 2000. She has a graduate degree in social work as well as an MBA. Prior to returning to southwestern Ontario, Sandra worked for 18 years in northwestern Ontario (Thunder Bay). Over the past 20 years Sandra has held management positions, with the last 15 in senior management.

Sandra's work experience crosses over much of the Human Services spectrum with most of her experience in the areas of children's mental health, youth justice, and addiction services. She has comprehensive knowledge and experience with residential, community-based, youth justice, and therapeutic wilderness programs. She also has extensive experience in community development, research, engaging in collaborative initiatives and program evaluation.

Current areas of professional interest include inter-sectoral partnerships, leadership development, coaching, change management, and organizational development.

Sandra's partner of 19 years is a high school educator. They enjoy travelling, reading, gardening, riding their motorcycles, cooking, and spending time with their family, friends, and dogs. Sandra has two beautiful step-daughters ages 25 and 21. Her oldest daughter is a veterinarian assistant in Yellowknife. Her youngest daughter attends Lakehead University working on a degree in Education.
