Simcoe Campus to Celebrate Convocation
On Friday, November 25, 2011, Fanshawe College's James N. Allan campus will celebrate convocation with the family and friends of more than 190 graduates from 13 diploma and certificate programs.
"Graduation is referred to as 'commencement' because it marks not an ending but a beginning - sometimes a second beginning - in the careers and lives of many of our graduates as they move out into the communities and put their learning to work," said Donna Gates, Chair of the James N. Allan campus. "We are proud of our graduates and look forward to continuing to work with them in the coming years as our colleagues, co-workers, and community leaders."
Valedictorian Sandra Baleka will share her experiences with the 2011 graduates and guests. After many years working as a financial and insolvency counsellor, Sandra returned to school in 2009. She will graduate this evening from the Social Services Worker diploma program. Sandra is currently employed at Fanshawe College’s Employment Services Centre in Simcoe.
At this celebration, the Rotary Club of Simcoe will make a generous contribution to the James N. Allan Campus Capital Campaign.
