Susan Deakin Honoured With Community College Impact Award

Susan Deakin, Coordinator of the Business Administration Accounting program, was honoured as one of two provincial Community College Impact Award winners for 2010 for excellence in teaching with technology at the Annual ETC (Educational Technology Committee) Conference at Humber College on May 27th.

The Impact Award recognizes a teacher who has demonstrated leadership in the use of educational technology that has had a positive impact on their college, students and colleagues.

Susan is the coordinator of Fanshawe's Business Administration Accounting program. She joined the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business at Fanshawe College in 2007 as a full time professor after a 20 year career in senior management in accountancy. She is currently president of the SW Ontario chapter of Financial Executives International. She is a Chartered Accountant and holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in accounting from the University of Waterloo.

Susan was nominated by faculty, staff and students for her innovative teaching and facilitation in the implementation of the Elluminate project at Fanshawe College.
