Three Dollar Opera - Inspiring Theatre Arts Programming

The graduating class of the Theatre Arts program was proud to present Three Dollar Opera. Directed by Gil Garratt, the production was staged at the Fanshawe College Galleria Campus Theatre from April 1 to 4, 2009. The project was an exploration based on Bertolt Brecht's The Threepenny Opera.

Prior to production, the class was asked to go out into the community to better understand poverty in London. Many cast members helped out in soup kitchens, donated their time and spoke with organizations who help the disadvantaged. In lieu of admission, audience members were asked to donate change for the United Way, along with bags of non-perishable items for the London Food Bank.
