Fanshawe College Capital Campaign special announcement

photo of Bob Siskind At the Fanshawe College Board of Governors meeting on January 22, Paul Huras, Chair of the Board, announced that Bob Siskind, President of Decade Corporation, has agreed to Chair the Capital Campaign for Fanshawe College. This is a critical position, not only for the success of the Campaign, but also for the future success of the College.

"Bob has a real passion and understanding of the college system. I cannot think of a better advocate for this campaign. Already, he has secured a campaign cabinet that includes many of our industry partners and individuals of influence in our community" said Paul Huras, Chair, Fanshawe College Board of Governors.

As the Campaign Chair, Bob will be the chief advocate for the College in this important initiative. He will be crucial in rallying support for the College and the Campaign with our external supporters, both individuals and organizations. Bob will work with Campaign Cabinet members, who will act as ambassadors for the College and solicitors for the Capital Campaign. A highly respected community leader, Bob has been instrumental in recruiting others to work on various campaigns and he continues to garner respect with other volunteers and donors.

Bob Siskind was born in London and was a senior member of Siskind, Cromarty law firm until his retirement from active practice in 1982. He is currently Vice-Chair of the Board of London Economic Development Council and a member of the Board of Directors of London Health Sciences Centre. He is a former member of the Government of Ontario’s Council of Regents for the College System. Bob was also an active member of the Steering Committee and Planning Committee for "Vision 2000", a review of the college system as it entered the new millennium.

The $15 million Fanshawe Campaign is currently in what is known as its "quiet phase" and a public launch of the Campaign will take place in early 2005 when many of the leadership gifts are secured.

Following internal consultation, a list of Capital Campaign priorities has been identified. The three main focuses are improvements to infrastructure, innovation in education and student success initiatives.
