:: Health Sciences Students Make Holidays Happier ::
Several classes of Fanshawe's Health Sciences students showed they care by collecting food and cash donations for the London Food Bank.

Pre-Health Science students provide holiday hampers
Through the leadership of Kevin Downey, class representative of the Pre-Health Science Class of 2007, the class raised $825 to provide holiday hampers for 11 London families. Each hamper provided a family with everything needed to enjoy a Christmas dinner, including a large turkey, potatoes, dressing, gravy, coffee and more. This class project was initiated through Kevin's connection with the New Life Centre, a distribution centre for the London Food Bank. Each year, approximately 70 families have benefited from this outreach program, and thanks to Fanshawe's Pre-Health Science class of 2007, 11 more families were able to share in the joy of a full holiday dinner.

Paramedic and Emergency Telecoms students fill ambulance with Food Bank donations
The Paramedic and Emergency Telecommunications students were busy collecting donations to support the London Food Bank this past holiday season. As part of their food drive, our students were out at the Wortley Village Valu Mart on Saturday, December 2, 2006, challenging the public to donate enough food to fill an ambulance. Despite the cold temperatures the students' enthusiasm was infectious and over 1,400 items of food and $300 in cash were collected. Great work students!
