Looking for new ways to help students succeed in their courses? Check out these great resources available in the library (Room L1003) at Fanshawe's London campus.

It's not all on the Internet! These reference books are not available online at Fanshawe.

Encyclopedia of Hormones
The Encyclopedia of Hormones (3 volumes) can be found in the library's reference collection at REF QP571 .E52 2000. It is a comprehensive reference work on hormones in vertebrate, invertebrate, and plant systems. It covers all aspects of hormones: their chemical structure and biological synthesis; the major physiological systems in which they operate; the cellular and subcellular site of their action; the nature of the signal transduction mechanisms used in the hormone's action; and the biological consequences of an excess or deficiency of the hormone. More details are available on the publisher's website.

Encyclopedia of Medical Devices and Instrumentation
This six-volume set looks at how technology can assist each of the various branches of medicine, focussing on the practice of medicine that is assisted by devices, rather than, for example, drugs. They cover the latest developments such as nanotechnology, fibre optics, and signal processing. This book will be used not only by students studying biotechnology, but also those in fields where they will work with patients using the technology. This set is located in the reference section at REF R856.A3 E54 2006.
