:: Interior Design Students Show Off Work ::
Lynette Shantz won first
prize in ARIDO's display competition
|
The Interior Design class of 2007 had the opportunity to show
off their work at an annual gala held on Monday, August 20, 2007 in
the Oasis. Family, friends and industry professionals were on hand
for the event which showcased the work of the graduating class.
With the assistance of Drew Ellwood, support staff, and Guy
Gibson, School of Art and Design professor, each student designed
and built a large unit to hold their portfolio booklet. "Our summer
teaching staff of Adriana MacDonald, Julie McIntyre, Natalie
Cooper, Karen Thyret, Guy Gibson, Annette Albright and Al Waxman
did an outstanding job which reflects in the student portfolios and
models on display," remarked Dale Landry, coordinator of the Interior
Design program. "They were well-received by the design industry
representatives and everyone attending the gala. We are proud of
our students!"

"It was a pleasure for me to see the growth in the Interior
Design Students," said Angela Bourne, Chair, School of Art and
Design. "The projects they presented were amazing. We raised the
bar and they exceeded our expectations."

throughout the year, as well as three cash prizes awarded by
the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO)
for student displays
at the gala. The winners included: Lynette Shantz (first),
