Do you like helping people cope with problems and overcome adversity?

Fanshawe's Social Service Worker program gives you the education and skills you need to truly make a difference in the lives of people who need help.

If you'd like to work with families and adults who are facing personal challenges, and if you've had significant life and work experience, this program is for you. You'll build a sound knowledge of human behaviour, and individual and social problems and learn proven helping techniques to prepare you for social service work practice in social agencies and social welfare programs.

Learning focuses on role-plays, counselling labs, case studies, and presentations from professional social workers and clients.

You'll also gain invaluable experience in a variety of field placements in London - a leader among communities - with its extensive social service and health community resources.

And you'll have lots of support from friendly, experienced faculty and advisors who are committed to help you succeed.

When you graduate, you'll be prepared for work in a variety of areas including anti-violence, corrections, addictions, education, crisis intervention and community development. You'll also be eligible for admission into the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
