Anesthesia Assistant
Augment your health care degree or diploma with specialized, high-demand anesthetics skills.
Anesthesia Assistants work under the supervision of the anesthesiologist and assist in the care of surgical patients during general, regional and local anesthesia.
In Fanshawe's Anesthesia Assistant program, you'll perform simulations in a brand new, state-of-the-art mock operating room, using the latest simulation equipment.
You'll also complete clinical placements in London-area hospitals, to prepare you for work as a valuable member of any hospital's anesthesia care team.
When you graduate, you'll be ready to put your specialized, sought-after skills to work in hospital operating rooms across Canada, as well as in post-operative care, labour and delivery, emergency, and intensive care.
Anesthesia Assistant is a 38-week Ontario College Graduate Certificate Program, with a flexible delivery format where you can attend classes one day each week during the first two terms, to accommodate your existing professional work commitments.
