Program Description
Business Administration - Human Resources is a three-year Ontario College Advanced Diploma program (laptop required). Building on the curriculum of the two-year Business - Human Resources program, students acquire and demonstrate industry standard skills in the core human resources functional areas: recruitment and selection, training and development, human resources planning, occupational health and safety, organizational behaviour, finance and accounting, human resources management, compensation and benefits, and labour relations. Students have the opportunity to complete all nine Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) credits. (Refer to the Human Resources Professionals Association website for more information: www.hrpa.ca.) Upon completion of the Ontario College Advanced Diploma, students will also have a sound base in analytical skills, professional communication, payroll administration, leadership and dispute resolution. Further, infused in the program are a number of experiential learning opportunities (e.g., mentorship, HR Community Consultancy), where students interact with human resources professionals in the field.University Transfer Credits and Degree Completion

Where the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available spaces in the program, the Applicant Selection Criteria will be:- Preference for Permanent Residents of Ontario.
- Receipt of Application by May 1st.
- Achievement in the Admission Requirements.
- Preference will be given to graduates of the Fanshawe College Business - Human Resources program.
Note:
- Students applying for the Business Administration - Human Resources program with a two-year Business - Human Resources Ontario College Diploma from Fanshawe College should have obtained a minimum overall average of 'C+' (2.5 cumulative GPA) with a minimum 'C+' in the following courses: MGMT-1017, HLTH-1102, MGMT-3048, MGMT-3042, and MGMT-3009, or graduates from another Ontario College Business - Human Resources program who have achieved a minimum overall average of 'C+' (2.5 cumulative GPA) and a minimum 'C+' in courses that are equivalent to the courses listed above.
Other Information
- IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Students wishing to enter the Business Administration - Human Resources program, Program Code BAH1, must first successfully complete the Business - Human Resources program, Program Code BHR1.
- Students that have successfully completed the Business - Human Resources program, and wish to continue with the Business Administration - Human Resources program, must complete an "Application for Program Transfer" form available in the Office of the Registrar, Room E1012.
- Students who graduated from Business - Human Resources, Program Code BHR1, prior to May 2013 are eligible for transfer into Business Administration - Human Resources, Program Code BAH1, provided they meet admission requirements. Please contact the Lawrence Kinlin School of Business to arrange a meeting with the Program Co-ordinator.
- Nine courses in the program have been approved as credits towards the CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation. If students wish to pursue this designation, they should consult the Human Resources Professionals Association website (www.hrpa.ca) as Fanshawe College does not administer the designation. The designation requirements will include a university degree as of January, 2011.
- *The Business Administration - Human Resources program is a mandatory laptop program (pending CONNECT fee approval).
