Program Description

The program prepares students for a career in the residential construction industry. Courses are designed to provide the technical knowledge required to perform the construction, estimating, and scheduling associated with the building of bungalows, 2-storey houses, duplexes and townhouses. Part of the program is devoted to the acquisition of "hands-on" skills pertaining to this field.

Applicant Selection Criteria

Where the number of eligible applicants exceeds the available spaces in the program, the Applicant Selection Criteria will be:
  1. Preference for Permanent Residents of Ontario.
  2. Receipt of Application by May 1st.
  3. Achievement in the Admission Requirements.
  4. Preference will be given to graduates of the Fanshawe College Construction Carpentry Techniques program.

Advanced Standing

  • Credit for any course in the program will be given to students who can demonstrate that they have the required skills to meet the objectives of the course.

Other Information

  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR FIRST YEAR STUDENTS:  Students wishing to enter the first year of the program should apply to the Construction Carpentry Techniques program, Program Code CCQ3.
  • Students wishing to enter the Construction Engineering Technician - Supervisor program will be registered in Year 1 in the Construction Carpentry Techniques program. Students who successfully complete all courses within the Construction Carpentry Techniques program and wish to continue in the second year of the Construction Engineering Technician - Supervisor program to complete the requirements for an Ontario College Diploma must complete an "Application for Program Transfer" form available from the Office of the Registrar, Room E1012.
