Emergency Management
Delve in to the fast-paced career of managing and executing emergencies.
In the Emergency Management program, graduates are engaged in activities in the area of emergency and disaster management.
The program reflects the work that emergency mangers must be able to perform on a regular basis within the framework of appropriate emergency management legislation.
Students will be equipped with the necessary skills to address key areas of emergency management from disaster preparedness, coordination and management of emergency events escalating through to catastrophes, hazards, risk assessment, terrorism, mitigation/prevention, preparedness, response and recovery.
This program is delivered in a blended in-class/online delivery format. It is suitable for students who can commit one day per week in-class and who are also self-motivated to complete the extensive on-line learning that is required.
Graduates will be eligible to apply for positions within the business/industry and public sectors. Positions are likely to be found in larger companies and municipalities with duties relating to emergency management planning and liaising with community partners.
