Residence Meal Plan

What could be better than residence?! You're already living on the campus so it's just a matter of minutes to class, AND you don't have to worry about making meals because you have your Residence Meal Plan!

  • The residence meal plan is mandatory for all students living in residence with the exception of Kestrel Court.
  • The plan is a declining balance plan with a minimum mandatory purchase of $1200 for all students living in residence.
  • Additional purchases can be made as necessary throughout the year at the Bookstore. Additional amounts will be applied towards the flex fund portion of the card. This will allow the student to use these funds for photocopier, printing and library payments as well as all meal locations.
  • Students are encouraged to use up their meal plan in the school year that it is purchased.
  • Residence students with a remaining balance who are not returning to Fanshawe will be ineligible for a refund.
  • Meal card balances must be used up while the students are attending Fanshawe. No refunds will apply when they leave the college unless student formally withdraws.

Purchase...

  • The meal plan is purchased as part of your residence payment.

Activation and use...

  • An account is set up for you on a secure database for the initial purchase value.
  • To access your account, your student card must be activated after you receive it, either in the Campus Bookstore, F1002, or during orientation activities in J-Gymnasium.
  • The Bookstore administers the campus food plan and residence meal plan. For purchases, refunds, questions, or comments, contact the Bookstore, F1002, 519-452-4260, bookstore@fanshawec.ca, fax 519-452-4229.

Refunds...

  • The plan is locked in. There is no refund unless you formally withdraw from the College or leave residence before the end of term. If a student leaves residence and withdraws from the college they will receive a prorated refund for the balance provided we have received official notice of withdrawal from the Registrar’s office.
  • If a student resides in residence for one year and decides not to return to the college they are not entitled to a refund for the unused portion remaining on their student card.
  • If you leave residence and live off campus you may transfer any unused balance of the meal plan to our off campus meal plan at no charge. See details under Optional Meal Plan.
  • Refunds are subject to a $50 admin fee.
  • Refunds are not automatic if you withdraw or leave residence. You must request a refund at the Campus Bookstore, F1002.
  • Provided the student is eligble, refunds take approximately 4 weeks and are issued by cheque.
