What is security like on campus?
Security services run virtually 24/7, patrolling campus both on foot and with security vehicles. We also offer a Campus Safe Walk program with phones located around the campus connecting directly to our control centre for assistance.
What sort of money is available to me?
There are a number of scholarships, awards and bursaries available to students. Visit www.FanshaweMoney.ca or contact our Financial Aid office or our Awards & Scholarships office and see what might be available for you.
How does the meal plan work?
The meal plan is a system where students can put money on their student card to use as a debit card at virtually any of the food service areas on campus.
What is the minimum amount of money I can put on my meal card?
For the optional meal plan, a minimum of $50 is required, and money can be added at any time in increments of $50. If you are in Residence, there is a minimum mandatory meal plan of $1200.
Does the meal plan money carry over to the next year?
Yes. Money can be carried over from year to year for the students' entire duration at Fanshawe.
How does the drug/dental plan work?
All registered full-time, post-secondary students are automatically enrolled in the FSU Health Plan. This plan covers most prescription drugs and accident benefits. For more information visit www.fsu.ca
What if I'm already covered for drug/dental through my parents?
You may opt out of the drug or dental plan within the first 10 days of the semester by filling out the online form at www.fsu.ca.
I have a disability. Who do I speak to about making arrangements?
The Accessibility Services office offers a variety of services for students with physical, mental and learning disabilities. Please identify any disabilities as early as possible to aid us in assessing what services are needed.
Does the bus pass work all year?
The London Transit bus pass is valid 24/7 for the entire school year, as well as the summer months while you are a student at Fanshawe. There are even five buses that stop right on campus.
I would like to work on campus. Where can I get a job?
There are hundreds of job opportunities right in the heart of Fanshawe College. From food services to Student Ambassadors, there is a job for you at Fanshawe. Visit our Career Services department for complete job listings, or just pop by any of our service areas to inquire.
How do I get a parking pass?
Limited parking passes are available to students coming to Fanshawe from outside of London. Students are encouraged to use their bus pass, or, if they choose to drive, there are coin lots available. For more information on rates and policies click here.
How do I get a locker?
Lockers are available for rent to students per term and are on a first-come, first-served basis.
Are there vegetarian options in the dining facilities?
There are a variety of vegetarian options at a number of food-service areas on campus. Just ask our staff what the options are!
I would like to play a varsity sport. Who do I contact?
There are 11 varsity teams at Fanshawe, including men's/women's basketball, volleyball, soccer (indoor and outdoor), golf, badminton and cross-country. For more information visit the Athletics department.
What if I lose my Campus Card?
If you lose your Campus Card you should contact the Office of the Registrar immediately. There is a fee to replace your Campus Card, so make sure to keep it close at all times!
If I get sick, where do I go?
Both a medical clinic and Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic services are available to students, staff, faculty and community members. Located on the first floor of the Student Centre (1001), hours are Monday to Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
What are the job opportunities when I graduate?
With over 90 per cent of students employed within six months of graduation, Fanshawe grads get jobs. Employment statistics for each program are available on our Key Performance Indicators website. We even offer job listings and career resources through our Career Services department.
