Welcome to the Fanshawe College Centre for Applied Research, Innovation & University Partnerships (ARIUP) and the Fanshawe Industry Innovation Centre (FIIC).

Our mandate

To foster innovation through applied research, commercialization and knowledge/technology transfer projects.

Our focus

To provide services and resources for applied research and innovation projects that help Canadian and Ontario employers become more globally competitive; undertake projects that benefit the community and the greater society; support regional economic development; provide enhanced learning experiences and professional development for our students, our faculty and our staff; and bring new knowledge, scholarship and perspectives into the classroom and curriculum in order to produce more highly qualified personnel for the Canadian and Ontario labour forces.

How we do that

ARIUP facilitates partnerships between external partners (academic, community, government and private sector) and Fanshawe Schools, Faculties and departments, provides research support services such as project and partnership development, partnership agreements and technology transfer, sources potential government funding and assists with proposals/grant applications for innovation projects. This may include needs assessment, proof-of-concept or other types of R&D projects at various stages of development. ARIUP does this for all partner types; the FIIC is specifically aimed at helping businesses -- particularly small and medium-sized enterprises -- connect with college expertise through its founding membership in the Colleges Ontario Network for Industry Innovation (CONII).
