1 . Where can I check the status to see what programs are open and closed?
Visit our open programs page to view a full listing of programs that are still accepting applications.
2. Does Fanshawe College automatically send out alternate offers?
Yes, Fanshawe will send out alternate offers for certain programs. These offers are usually to preparatory programs in that subject area, provided the prep program is not oversubscribed . . . for example, Pre-Health Science. For specific program details, please contact the Office of the Registrar (www.fanshawec.ca/registrar) at 519-452-4277.
3. What should my advice be to students applying to oversubscribed programs?
The best advice for these students is to always have a contingency plan. Research the program thoroughly to ensure that it is a traditionally oversubscribed program and find out what the most direct route into the program is. Contact a member of our Liaison Team or the Office of the Registrar (www.fanshawec.ca/registrar) for more details.
4 . What programs are oversubscribed?
There are a number of programs that are traditionally oversubscribed and are very difficult to gain entry without some form of post-secondary education. These programs are listed as "highly competitive" in the course descriptions and typically include Music Industry Arts, Dental Hygiene, Paramedic, Medical Radiation Technology and Respiratory Therapy.
5. Where can students check for entrance scholarships and bursaries?
Bursaries and Scholarships are available through both our Financial Aid Office and our Scholarships and Advancement Services Office. Both are great resources for students to being their research.
6. Does Fanshawe College have a differential between U and C courses?
No, Fanshawe does not offer a differential between U- and C-level courses. For more information on our admissions procedures click here.
