  2. How do I submit an application for employment with Fanshawe College?

    Fanshawe's online application system, Fanshawe Works, allows you to indicate your interest in employment with the College by submitting your application to a specific job posting on our website at:

    Internal Applicants (employees):

  3. Is applying online the only method I can use?

    Yes - Fanshawe College does not accept email or hard copy resumés. Fanshawe's online application system is available on any computer with access to the internet. Consult your local library or employment resources centre for computers with internet access available to the public at no cost.

  4. What if I don't have an e-mail address?

    There are a variety of ways to obtain a free email account. You may wish to visit websites such as Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo Mail to register for an email account or to obtain more information.

  5. How often are jobs posted?

    Jobs are posted regularly and we encourage you to check Fanshawe Works often to see what new positions are available.

  6. How do I make changes to my profile?

    Updates to your contact information can be made at any time by clicking on 'Edit Application' on the main page. These updates will be reflected immediately on any applications that have been previously submitted as well as on future applications.

    All other profile information is reviewed by the applicant and can be amended during the process of applying for each individual posting. Any changes you make (other than Contact Information) will be stored and viewed specific to each posting you apply for.

  7. Can I make changes or retract my application?

    Once you have submitted your application to a job competition you will have access to view it by clicking on the Application Status menu option. Prior to the closing date of the posting, you can withdraw from the posting using the "Withdraw" link. Please note, once you withdraw, you will not be able to reapply for that specific posting. 

    Please proofread and review all of your information before you submit it. Please note that you will be able to make changes to your "Contact Information" at any time.

  8. When will I hear about an interview?

    Since every position is different and can have a number of factors which affect timelines, there is no standard time period. Please note that only qualified candidates that are being invited for an interview will be contacted.

  9. I have submitted my application for a job posting. Will I automatically be considered for other similar jobs?

    No - you must apply to a specific job posting in order to be considered for that position.

  10. What kind of files can I attach to my application?

    As you will see during the application process, you may wish to copy and paste your resumé and cover letter or attach it as an uploaded file. You may also be asked to, or you may wish to, attach other relevant documentation related to your work experience, educational background or skills. Only files less than 10MB in size are accepted for upload. Documents will be accepted in the following formats: doc, jpeg, jpg, xml, pdf, docx.

  11. To whom should I address my cover letter?

    As selection committees differ for each posting, you can address your cover letter in generic terms such as "To Whom It May Concern", or "Selection Committee" or "Hiring Manager".

  12. Can I apply for more than one position at a time?

    Yes. Simply repeat the application process for each suitable job posting of interest.

  13. There are no appropriate job postings for me to apply to. Can I still send in my application?

    Applications can only be submitted to specific postings. We encourage you to monitor our website on a regular basis for job opportunities and ask that you apply directly for suitable positions.

  14. Who should I contact if I have questions about the process?

  15. What do I do if I forget my password?

    From the main login page, you have options that allow you to have your username confirmed and an option to reset your password.

  16. What should I do if my email address changes?

    Your email address identifies your account. If you change your email address you will need to create a new login and profile from the beginning. Please note that all email correspondence is sent to the email address you provide when creating your login.

  17. How do I know that Fanshawe has received my application?

    Once you select 'Submit Application' a confirmation page will confirm your application.  You will not receive a confirmation email.

  18. Will I be able to see the status of my application? How will I know when a position has been filled?

    Once you have logged in and are on the main page, you will be able to select the tab 'View Submitted Apps'. Each posting you have applied for will be listed with a "status" column at the far right. Each possible status you could see, including a definition, is listed below:

    "New" - indicates you have submitted an application for this position
    "In Progress" - indicates that applications for this posting are in the process of being reviewed.
    "Closed" - indicates the position has been filled.

  19. Will my application be kept on file for a period of time?

    Applications are only reviewed and considered when submitted to a specific posting.

  20. I have uploaded a file and selected the wrong 'Type.' How do I change that? (eg. I uploaded my resumé but selected "certificate" as the type).

    Once you have uploaded a file, you will see a list called 'Uploaded Files'. This list will show the title of the document as well as the type you selected. If the type is not correct, simply edit the file by clicking on the green pencil to the right side of the document.

  21. As an employee, how can I access internal postings?

    You will need to log in to the myFanshawe portal to be able to access internal postings. To do this:
    Step #1: click here to access myFanshawe - https://portal.myfanshawe.ca
    Step #2: enter your username and password. This is the same information you use to log onto the network when you are at work.
    Step #3: Once you're logged in to MyFanshawe, select: Employee Services > Human Resources > Jobs (Employment)
