Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loan (COISL) Default Rates - 2016
All Ontario post-secondary institutions are required to provide students with information on Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loan Default Rates for post-secondary programs funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
Beginning in 2012, a change was implemented in the way that the OSAP default rate was measured. The new rate includes borrowers who receive Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loans (which may consist of both Canada and Ontario loans, or just a Canada or Ontario loan) and default on either portion of the loan.
The overall 2016 COISL Default Rate for Ontario Publicly-Assisted Colleges is 9.8%. In comparison, Fanshawe’s overall 2016 COISL Default Rate is 10.6%.
The Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loan (COISL) Default Rates for 2017 will be available soon.
Note: Please see the OSAP Web site for default rates for all Ontario Colleges/Universities.
