The first awards from Ascent Group will be presented to deserving students in fall 2014.

Renewable Energies Technician program

Launched in September 2012, this program provides formal training for individuals seeking to enter the Renewable Energies field as employees or entrepreneurs. Students learn electrical, electronic and mechanical disciplines within the sector and graduate with an in-depth working knowledge of current practices in the installation, commissioning and routine maintenance and repair of Solar Photovoltaic and Wind Turbine generating systems.

Electronics Engineering Technician - Industrial Controls program

This pre-apprenticeship program focuses on electricity and electronics in factory automation and industrial controls. Students learn how to design and build the control systems that make factories and industries work. This program teaches the skills to maintain, program and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), industrial sensors, and motor control circuits. Graduates are well equipped to use their skills in automated factories, agricultural production facilities and refineries.
