The Fanshawe Women's Softball team (2-4) went 2-2 this past week, splitting games with St. Clair last Tuesday and Humber on Saturday.

In the first game of the doubleheader on Tuesday, St. Clair got off to a strong start, scoring nine runs in the opening three innings. In the bottom of the third inning, Samantha Fuller (Ingersoll, ON) had the Falcon's first single followed by a MacKenzie Kelly (Oil Springs, ON) walk. Jacey Lochert (Bellwood, ON) then got the Falcons on the board with a 1-run single to centrefield. In the top of the fifth, with the Saints threatening to score, Fanshawe's Lochert had a great catch to end the inning. The Falcons added another run when Lochert scored Kim McCaul (Whitby, ON) before the end of the fifth. Unfortunately, the early deficit was too large to overcome and Fanshawe fell to the Saints by a final score of 10-2. The Falcons Shianne Martin (Wyoming, ON) took the loss (1-2).

In game two, St. Clair started the scoring with two runs in the first inning. Fanshawe's Lochert and Ali Bergman (Embro, ON) responded by collecting back-to-back RBIs to tie the game 2-2 after three innings.   In the fourth, Falcons veteran Amber Preszcator (Hensall, ON) hit a triple to centrefield, and would score on a single by McCaul to give the home team their first lead. Fuller followed that with a single to score McCaul to make the score 4-2. A leadoff inside the park homerun from Lochert extended Fanshawe's lead to 5-2 after five. Preszcator had two outstanding catches in the seventh inning to give St. Clair two quick outs. Lochert then got a groundout to end the contest and give Fanshawe their first win of the young season. Lochert (1-1) went the distance to notch the complete game victory for Fanshawe.

The Falcons then travelled to Humber College on Saturday, where they split games with the Hawks. Fanshawe won the first game by a score of 9-5 and lost the second 10-0. Martin (1-2) recorded the win in game one, while Lochert (1-1) took the loss in game two.
