Cross Country

 (London, Ontario) – On Saturday afternoon at Sault College, the Fanshawe Cross Country team competed at the CCAA National Championship. 

On the Men's side, lead runner Seth Marcaccio improved on his 2015 CCAA silver medal by becoming Fanshawe College's first ever CCAA Men's Individual Champion.  Marcaccio completed the race in a course record of 25 minutes and 39 seconds and a full 20 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.  He was also named a CCAA All-Canadian.  The team won the overall silver medal, also an improvement on last years' bronze.  The team was comprised of Marcaccio, Ryan Foot (11), Justin Attfield (22), Jordan Kadlecik (24), Justin McNamara (41), and Josh Heuving (42).

On the Women's side, the Falcons had a fantastic race, finishing in sixth place overall and as the top team from Ontario. The team had placed 5th at the OCAA Championships two weeks ago. Fanshawe's top runners Morgan Hendriks and Stacey Andrews finished in 19th and 27th respectively.  Other Falcons on the Women's team included Breah Gordan (41), Sami-Jo Burch (55) and Alison Fernandes (99).
