(London, Ontario) – Nathan McFadden, Manager of Athletics at Fanshawe College, announced today that Sean Pellow has been selected as the new Head Coach to lead the Fanshawe Falcons Women's Volleyball program.
Pellow comes to Fanshawe with an impressive resume when it comes to coaching volleyball, including as the Head Coach at Mohawk College from 2009-11, where he led the Mountaineers to an OCAA bronze medal in 2009-10. He has also been an assistant coach with Western University and a head coach with the Forest City Volleyball club, Team Ontario and OVA Region 3 teams, as well as at the high school level. He has won a number of championships over his time as a coach including a National Championship in 2013 with his Under 16 Forest City Club team.
"I am honoured to have been selected as the Head Coach of the Women's Volleyball program at Fanshawe College," said Pellow. "I look forward to the challenges presented to me with this position as I attempt to continue the success that the Falcons Women's Volleyball program has demonstrated over the years. Fanshawe is known as one of the top women's programs in Ontario and it is my goal to continue that legacy and work toward moving that to the National (CCAA) level in the near future."
"We are very excited to add a head coach of Sean's calibre to lead our Women's Volleyball program," said McFadden. "His organization, attention to detail, experience and passion will be valuable assets for our program, but it is his character traits and proven ability to win a National Championship that makes him an excellent addition to our group of outstanding coaches."
Last season, the Women's Volleyball program took home the silver medal at the OCAA Provincial Championships at Durham College. The 2014-15 Women's Volleyball program's first league game takes place at home on October 25th versus the Mohawk Mountaineers. The game begins at 1pm at the Glenn Johnston Athletics Centre.
