Fanshawe students win national awards.
Four students from the Broadcast Journalism program at Fanshawe College won national scholarships this weekend at the Radio, Television and Digital News Association annual conference in Toronto.
The students each took away $2,000. Student work was judged against 166 entries in 7 categories from the best journalism programs across Canada.
The winners (Left to right) were Carolyn Loconte, Ashley Denuzzo, Jennifer Cork and Brandon Piper.
"We were so proud of the students and the way they represented Fanshawe College," said Jim Van Horne, coordinator of the Broadcast Journalism program. "Their speeches were great and they got to talk to the people who will be hiring them one day. Also, they enjoyed all the conference sessions."
Fanshawe College has a long association with the RTDNA. Students have won 65 scholarships in the 36 years of the program including 37 over the last 10 years.
