In celebration of the college system's 50th anniversary, the Government of Ontario has unanimously proclaimed the week of April 3, 2017, as Colleges Week. Many community events and tributes recognizing the importance of Ontario colleges will take place during this time.

Below is a list of events taking place at Fanshawe College. All events are open to the media.

Police Foundations volunteer team to give their adopt-a-parks a spring cleaning

Update: Due to severe weather expected on April 3, the Police Foundations cleanup has been rescheduled until Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at 5 p.m. 
Students from the Police Foundations volunteer team will clean up Ed Blake Park and Fanshawe College Blvd. Both locations were officially adopted by the students through the City of London in 2014.

When: Tuesday, April 11, 2017
Where: Ed Blake Park, 449 Barker Street; Fanshawe College Blvd., 1001 Fanshawe College Blvd.
Time: 5 p.m.

5th annual Early Childhood Leadership research symposium day

Fanshawe's Honours Bachelor of Early Childhood Leadership (B.ECL) program will host a research symposium day on Thursday, April 6, 2017. The research day will showcase the research of over 120 graduating B.ECL students as they engage with community partners, peers and faculty.

When: Thursday, April 6, 2017
Where: James A. Colvin Atrium, London Campus (please see the campus map for building location)
Time: Event begins with opening remarks from President Peter Devlin at 10 a.m. The event concludes at 3 p.m.

Athletics awards ceremony and banquet

On Friday, April 7, 2017, Fanshawe Athletics will hold the 50th annual athletics awards ceremony and banquet to recognize and celebrate team and individual accomplishments. All awards from the season will be presented including Male and Female Athletes of the Year.

When: Friday, April 7, 2017
Where: Oasis – Student Centre, Campus Drive (please see the campus map for building location)
Time: 6:30 p.m.

Fanshawe to honour its best in broadcasting

Top broadcasting students from the College will be honoured at the 47th annual radio, journalism and television broadcasting awards ceremony. Fanshawe will present 27 awards for excellence in journalism at the event.

When: Saturday, April 8, 2017
Where: Best Western Lamplighter, 591 Wellington Road South, London, ON
Time: Cocktails are at 5 p.m., dinner at 6 p.m., awards presentation to follow
