On Thursday, November 30, 2017, Fanshawe will celebrate convocation with graduates and their families and honour its high-achieving students through the presentation of the Governor General's Academic Medal, the Mary Ann Darling Memorial Alumni Award and the Dean's Academic Awards.
The Governor General's Academic Medal, awarded to the graduating student with the highest grade point average in the College, will be presented to Tanisha Driedger (Office Administration – Medical program). Patrice Mitchell, a graduate from the Geographical Information Systems and Urban Planning program, will receive the Mary Ann Darling Memorial Alumni Award for academic success and volunteerism. The Dean's Academic Awards will be awarded to the student with the highest grade point average in their faculty. This year's recipients are:
- Faculty of Arts, Media and Design: Mr. Tandeep Sidhu, Public Relations - Corporate Communications
- Faculty of Business and Information Technology: Ms. Tanisha Driedger, Office Administration - Medical
- Faculty of Health, Community Studies and Public Safety: Ms. Hina Islam, Child and Youth Worker
- Faculty of Technology: Mr. Matthew Vendryes, Electrician (Construction and Maintenance)
During the ceremony, Fanshawe President Peter Devlin will present Connie Graham with an honorary diploma from the College in recognition of her involvement with the College and the impact she has had on students and alumni.
