Fanshawe is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Wright as Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Business Development and Michele Beaudoin as Vice President, Student Services, effective August 29, 2016.
Fanshawe President Peter Devlin said, “I am thrilled to have such highly qualified individuals join Fanshawe's leadership team and am confident that Mr. Wright and Ms. Beaudoin each bring a unique set of skills and experience that will help us to ensure Fanshawe's continued success as we move into our 50th year of unlocking the potential of our students.”
Wright is currently Fanshawe's Associate Vice-President – Strategy, having been with the College since 2009. Previously, he worked for over ten years at Queens Park, including as Director of Research and Outcome Measurement at the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
Wright is a candidate in the Doctor of Education Program at Western University. He has completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, as well as a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor.
In his most recent role, Wright has provided executive leadership for strategic planning, institutional research, government relations, corporate training, new business development and strategic enterprise solutions (i.e., business planning, enterprise risk assessment, business process review, project management and policy).
Wright has served in a number of volunteer capacities, including as a member of the Mayor's Economic Advisory Panel, the City of London Community Grants Review Panel, Women's Community House Board, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) Board, Lawson Health Research Institute Board, and the Children's Health Foundation Board.
Wright said, "I'm absolutely thrilled and honoured to join President Devlin's new leadership team. In my new role I hope to work closely with the fantastic staff, to build on an already strong College brand, and to swiftly identify and seize new, exciting opportunities for the College."
Michele Beaudoin has over 25 years of experience working at Georgian College where she is currently the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students. Ms. Beaudoin is a PhD candidate in Information Studies at the University of Toronto and she has a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from Western University.
Beaudoin has a passion for higher education, where her goal has been to launch confident, skilled students who have a sense of hope about their futures and who can see themselves contributing to the world with their unique talents and perspectives.
Through her work at Georgian College, Beaudoin has served in multiple capacities on province-wide committees including the Heads of Student Affairs, Coordinating Committee of Vice Presidents, Heads of Cooperative Education and the Heads of Libraries and Learning Resources.
Beaudoin was born in London and completed much of her education here, so she is looking forward to returning to her roots.
“I am excited to be joining the strong team of student-focused leaders at Fanshawe and look forward to contributing my energy and passion for post-secondary education to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead,” said Beaudoin.
These appointments follow a nation-wide search involving advisory committees that assisted the President with the search and hiring. Wright replaces Bernice Hull, who is retiring from Fanshawe after a distinguished 39-year career. Beaudoin replaces Cathie Auger, who is also retiring after an accomplished 38-year career at Fanshawe.
“I want to thank both Cathie and Bernice for their sound advice, incredible leadership and profound knowledge of our institutional history,” said Peter Devlin. “Both Cathie and Bernice have seen the College grow from approximately 1,000 to more than 20,000 full-time students and have been influential these many years in charting the College's course.”
